Lately on Mob Wives boxing enthusiast Drita D’Avanzo has been on the ropes. She’s had problems with Karen and Ramona and more recently Renee, but maybe some of that will change.
Drita talked exclusively with RealityAired.com last night during a meet and greet featuring the Mob Wives star at 900 Park Restaurant in The Bronx. And she says she’d like the unthinkable to happen before this season comes to an end.
The last episodes are still being filmed, but Drita says she hopes there’s a reconciliation between herself and Drita. She says we will see “the outcome of Lee (Drita’s estranged husband) and Drita, and you get to meet my baby girl.”
Wha-a-a-a-a-a-t? Let’s back up. Karen and Drita friends again? Drita has a baby?
Drita says that being on the outs with some of the other women on the show has been tough. “It’s been difficult because I’m trying to move forward, she explains. “I’m the type of person who can move forward, hopefully that can be possible with Karen.”
It’s true that Drita did mention on the show that she thought she and Karen should have a talk and resolve things. But didn’t we all just anticipate that was a warning that World War III was around the corner? After all, it was Drita’s attempt to make amends with Karen that led to this season’s opening melee at Renee’s “Celebration of Life” party.
Drita says it’s time to put the issue of her marrying Karen’s ex boyfriend, Lee, to rest since it’s caused more than enough drama between Drita and Karen. Drita adds that any more talk about it is like playing a “broken record.”
With all of that said, we asked Drita if she’ll read, or has read, Karen’s best-selling book. That was another sore subject between the two.
One of the times Karen didn’t seem long for this world was when Karen told Drita Lee would be part of her book about growing up as the daughter of mobster Sammy “The Bull” Gravano.
“You get a book bashing Aleeya’s father, that’s going to be a little bit of a f***ing problem!” Drita warned Karen as she was writing it. Karen said he would be in the book no matter what because he had been a large part of her life and it’s her story.
Well, Drita’s mind hasn’t changed on that one.
“I would never read the book,” Drita says. She adds a friend of hers read it and told her there isn’t much in it about Lee. Still, Drita adds, “I’m not crazy about him being in there.”
Drita notes she could never understand why Karen would let the whole world know how upset she was about the situation with Lee when he’s a former boyfriend and Karen is with someone else now. “What about the guy you’re with?” Drita asks. “Aren’t you insulting him?”
When questioned about whether she patches things up with Ramona – who Drita feels got in the middle of the dispute between Drita and Karen for no reason – she shot off an answer right away.
“No,” Drita says. “Ramona’s like a child that screams for attention. It’s exhausting and annoying and I don’t want to hear it anymore.”
And when last we checked Renee was mad at Drita for allegedly lying when Drita said Ramona said Renee’s ex-husband, Junior, would be a loser without Renee; and that he only married Renee for the connection to her father. Renee’s dad is Bonanno crime family capo Anthony Graziano.
Things between Renee and Drita do get patched up. Drita says she feels terrible about all of Renee’s new troubles. Renee has been in nervous breakdown mode and even went to the hospital over her 71-year-old father being sent back to jail.
Renee’s dad had just completed a long prison sentence when Junior flipped for the FBI and became an informant last summer. Anthony Graziano was nabbed again as the result of Junior secretly taping his incriminating conversations with Renee’s dad.
On last week’s episode Junior also went back to jail on charges that could keep him there for seven years instead of the months Renee had expected. Renee and Junior had been trying to get back together before his betrayal unfolded.
“That’s awful,” Drita says. “That’s the worst thing that could ever happen, but everyone’s going to be there for her.”
