Jennifer Williams’ Attorney Speaks Out on Slapping Lawsuit

Jennifer Williams, star of ‘Basketball Wives’, appears to be going full-steam ahead with her lawsuit against Nia Crooks.

Nia physically slapped Jennifer on Episode 9 this season, Jennifer didn’t fight back with her fists. She tells Kenya in Episode 10 “I don’t fight with my hands, I do what the white people do, okay?” (watch it at the end of the Episode 10 sneak peek).

Her attorney Sanford Rubenstein, in an interview with CNN, says the lawsuit is a “serious matter”.

“I think the issue here is violence by women against women.”

“When an assault and battery occurs – whether it’s on national TV or in someone’s own home – it’s still assault and battery. Accountability is what this lawsuit is all about.

He adds “don’t forget there’s also the issue of criminality, which is under investigation. So there are issues on both the civil and criminal sides.”

So what about the rumor that the other woman will boycott the reunion if Jennifer proceeds with the lawsuit? “doesn’t change anything.” says Rubenstein.

Jennifer is seeking unspecified damages for whiplash-type neck injury and for post-traumatic stress.

What’s your take? Is the lawsuit the best move for Jennifer?
