Real Housewives of Orange County recap: Stranger Things Have Happened

They’re back!  “The originals” of the Real Housewives have returned to Bravo with a new housewife! The seventh season of The Real Housewives of Orange County aired last night with continuing drama from season six. Vicki, who is still finalizing her divorce, still lives with Don in their home but barely sees him. She stated they agreed to live together for financial reasons and needs his “paycheck” to help pay for costs. Although they still live together, she hasn’t seen him in two months, due to his excessive traveling and her busy schedule with her company. Their home is now placed on the market for sale and she is now focused on keeping happiness in her life.

For starters, she is dating a new man from Mississippi named Brooks Ayers. In celebration, she has planned a party at her home welcoming her newfound happiness and peace. She stated earlier in the show, “I am at peace and in a happy place in my life.”  She decided to have Cajun food at her party which was inspired by her new southern boyfriend Brooks.

Peggy and Alexis are both busy moms with children on their schedules. Neither of them are on speaking terms since last season’s discovery that Peggy dated Jim (Alexis’ husband) before. Alexis is now working with News 5 in San Diego, as a news correspondent. Adjusting to becoming a working mom and taking care of her children has been a task.

On her first day, she completed her well prepared to-do list with her assistance before she left for work, but failed to set the alarm for Jim. Her first segment behind a live camera was a bit overwhelming but she managed. She covered a segment on how to get a “Hollywood Booty” with Dr. Booty for National Booty Awareness Month.

Her segment consisted of her hosting the event and explaining workout tips to get the perfect shape. Alexis stated she happens to enjoy it and may seem to want a future in the TV industry.

Surprisingly, Gretchen and Tamra patched things up, sealing it with a friendship bracelet. Tamra had Gretchen’s bracelet custom made with a key to lock up their past and unlock their future together.

Tamra has not informed Vicki of their engagement or friendship, this is currently a secret affair between Gretchen and Tamra. It seems that they both agree to wait until the time is right to advise Vicki and the others as the drama continues to settle.

Tamra, is still selling real estate and her client is the new housewife this season, Heather Dubrow. Tamra happens to like Heather as she feels she is conservative, classy, and wealthy. She invited Heather to Vicki’s party and gave her the scoop on all the ladies before they arrived to Vicki’s home. Tamra happens to think that Alexis will envy Heather because she is filthy rich and has everything that Alexis wants.

As this episode came to a close the ladies entered Vicki’s party in pairs. Alexis was not happy at all to see Peggy when they entered Vicki’s Party.

There is no way to tell from the way this episode ended how the party may end up. However, by the look on Alexis’ face she was not pleased and we will have to wait for episode 2 to see what will go down.
